Indianapolis families and community members have several opportunities to receive free food, attend family-friendly activities, connect with local organizations, and access important resources during the week of July 13–19.
This week’s Indy Listed Free Resources List includes food pantries, youth meal programs, community dinners, workshops, public meetings, family events, and neighborhood gatherings across Indianapolis and surrounding communities.

Monday and Tuesday: Food Assistance and Youth Activities
The week begins Monday, July 13, with the CAFE Community Alliance Free Food Drive at 1:00 p.m. at 8902 E. 38th Street. Distribution is first-come, first-served.
Young people can also receive free after-school meals at the East 38th Street, Brightwood, and Haughville library branches. Families looking for evening activities can attend Minecraft Club and Family Game Night or Free Pajama Storytime at the Lawrence Library.
On Tuesday, July 14, food assistance will be available through St. Vincent de Paul, Open Doors of Washington Township, the Indianapolis Urban League, and the Southport Community Food Pantry.
The Indianapolis Urban League will distribute fresh groceries beginning at 10:00 a.m. at 777 Indiana Avenue while supplies last. Rhodius Park will also offer a free youth dinner from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday: Community Support Across the City
Wednesday’s schedule includes food assistance at the Mid-North Client-Choice Food Pantry, Riverside Park, Hornet Park, and the Community Cupboard of Lawrence.
Families can also attend the Back-to-School Block Party at Andrew J. Brown Academy beginning at 5:00 p.m. The event will include free food, games, inflatables, and activities for young people.
Anna’s House will host The Lord’s Pantry Free Community Dinner from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The Zionsville Lions Club Summer Concert Series will close out the day with a free concert from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 16, includes multiple food distributions throughout the area. St. Vincent de Paul will operate during morning and evening hours, while Windsor Village Park, ICAN Emergency Food Assistance, Westminster Neighborhood Services, and Zionsville Presbyterian Church will also provide support.
Some programs may require identification, proof of residency, an appointment, or advance sign-in. Residents should contact the organization before traveling whenever possible.
Friday Through Sunday: Meals, Markets and Neighborhood Events
Friday’s resources include the Mid-North Client-Choice Food Pantry, Community Cupboard of Lawrence, Zionsville Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, and the Rhodius Park Kids Free Meal Service.
Saturday, July 18, offers one of the week’s largest collections of activities. Food distributions will be available through St. Vincent de Paul, Open Doors of Washington Township, The Lord’s Pantry, and Pride Park.
Families can also visit the Zionsville Community Farmers Market, participate in a Nature Origami workshop at Eagle Creek, or attend the Hot Grill Summer Community Market in Carmel.
The Haughville Expo will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 520 N. Belleview Place. The free neighborhood event will feature food, games, community resources, and more.
On Sunday, July 19, SBC Development Corp will host a free charitable community feeding at 12:30 p.m. Big Homie Ace will also provide free hot meals beginning at noon near Washington and Alabama streets.
